Will Hammerstein has proudly embraced this new production and is thrilled at the docu-musical's success of highlighting the honorable values and principles of which his grandfather embodied. "Doreen's talent and personal values make her a perfect torchbearer for this exemplary legacy [Oscar Hammerstein II]. I'm sure Oscar would be very pleased with the association."

Being able to return to her musical theatre roots in her home state of NY while supporting a cause that helps save a historic Broadway landmark makes this evening an extra special achievement for Doreen.

"I grew up performing in the great shows that Oscar Hammerstein II helped create and to think that the very place these shows were conceived is now being threatened is a travesty. I created this show from a very special place in my heart and as a labor of love. I revere Oscar and will always be grateful for forever changing the landscape of musical theatre history and being able to help save this legendary landmark is a great honor for me."

An Enchanted Evening Featured in The Princeton Packet

An Enchanted Evening: A Night With Oscar Hammerstein II debuting on August 24th at the Bristol Riverside Theatre was featured in the Princeton Packet. Headliner Doreen Taylor sat down with the paper and discussed the brand new show in this wonderfully in depth interview.

"He really was ahead of his time, and he paved the way for so many topics and things people weren't talking about at the time," Taylor says. "He was really liberal and he pushed the envelope in many different ways. It's intriguing and I'm so glad I'm going to be able to teach a theater full of people something about him. I really wanted to make a show where even someone who knows a lot about him will walk away learning something and on the same side, somebody who doesn't know anything will come away enlightened. So we're going to try to do that and also do some great music, with great performances of his best stuff."

Doreen Taylor on Playbill.com

"An Enchanted Evening: A Night With Oscar Hammerstein II" starring award winning singer and Billboard Top 100 recording artist Doreen Taylor was featured on Playbill.com. The in-depth piece highlights the current movement to help save 'Highland Farm' where Oscar Hammerstein II lived and created some of Broadway's greatest musicals (Sound of Music, The King & I, Carousel, South Pacific, Oklahoma!, etc) and the brand new show/musical revue that has been created by Taylor to help raise money and awareness.

Taylor told Playbill, “I grew up performing in many of the great shows that Oscar Hammerstein II helped create and I have always been very fond of his work. In March, I happened to meet Will and Mandee Hammerstein (and Oscar IV!!) at a music video premiere party I hosted for my single ‘Unstoppable’ in Philadelphia. We really hit it off and I learned about how Highland Farm's future was being threatened and I immediately offered to step up and help. It seemed like a no-brainer for me to lend my talents to the cause in the best way I could—through music and performing. I created this show from a very special place in my heart and as a labor of love. I honor Oscar and will always be grateful for forever changing the landscape of musical theatre history and being able to help save this legendary landmark is a great honor for me.” Click here to read the whole story!

The show debuts on Thursday, August 24th 7:30pm at the Bristol Riverside Theatre (120 Radcliffe Street Bristol, PA)

Doreen Taylor's STRIPPED Returns to NYC

DOREEN TAYLOR STRIPPED (again…): REVEALING EVENING OF SONG AND STORIES RETURNS AWARD-WINNING POPULAR SONGSTRESS TO BROADWAY ROOTS

International Recording Artist and Songwriter Goes Unplugged In Heart of NY Theater District Thursday October 2nd at Don’t Tell Mama

“An excellent performing artist to keep your eyes on” – Huffington Post

Back by popular demand to the Big Apple after a wildly successful sold out New York City stop of her “Magic” tour, the sultry Los Angeles award winning songstress is returning to trade in the splash and dazzle of her sold-out arena concerts for something intimately special.

DOREEN TAYLOR: STRIPPED (again…), an elegantly revealing evening of unplugged songs and stories from her breakout album, Magic, brings the award-winning recording artist back to the heart of New York’s theater district Thursday, Oct. 2nd at Don’t Tell Mama, 343 W 46th Street (betw. 8th & 9th Aves.). Show time is 8 p.m. Seating begins 7:30 p.m. Tickets available NOW at http://strippedagain.brownpapertickets.com or reservations at by calling 212.757.0788 daily after 4 p.m.

Magic, the album, showcases Doreen’s talents as not only a vocalist, but as a songwriter and musician. She prides herself on the raw, emotional vibe of her lyrics and abilities to engage an audience, and DOREEN TAYLOR: STRIPPED (again…) affords her the ultimate opportunity at a world-famous entertainment destination. Weaving acoustic renditions of songs from Magic with narration and story-telling about the making of the album and the woman who crafted it, the show is a rare look into the journey of a fiercely independent artist whose loyal fan base has pushed her social media following to more than 28,000 on Facebook and over 30,000 on Twitter. Several songs from her Magic album were selected by BOSE to be used for all their on-air demonstrations of their Bose Wave Sound System on the world’s #1 home shopping network, QVC and have been prominently featured since 2013.

Backed by acoustic musicians in a subdued setting, DOREEN TAYLOR: STRIPPED (again…) offers Doreen’s unique fusion of soothing vocals, captivating melodies and engaging, upbeat showmanship in an understated homage to her Broadway roots.

It’s not often that a mainstream, popular singer-songwriter does a cabaret-style show off Broadway. DOREEN TAYLOR: STRIPPED (again…) is a true testament to Doreen’s ability as an artist to continually transcend musical boundaries. She does just that on Magic, which yielded the YouTube hit “Last Call (for Alcohol)” with country comfort and, as the Buffalo News points out, “is notable for the diversity of its content. Taylor can do straight-up contemporary music, but she is known to tackle standards like ‘Summertime’ and ‘The Way You Look Tonight’ with equal conviction.” The Huffington Post calls her “an excellent performing artist to keep your eyes on."

Purchase Tickets EXCLUSIVELY By Clicking HERE!!!!

Buffalo Country-Rock Songstress Returns Home as Successful International Recording Artist with Vegas-style ‘Feast for the Senses’ on October 20th, 2013.

Whether your musical palette drives you toward soothing vocals, engaging and upbeat showmanship or homegrown country roots, there’s a strong and mighty fusion of all three in DOREEN TAYLOR LIVE: A BUFFALO HOMECOMING BENEFIT – a special one-night only Vegas-style “feast for the senses” that brings the sultry Buffalo born-and-raised songstress back home for the first time since launching her career as an award-winning international recording artist.

Returning to the area where she was born and raised in a benefit for local charity Andrew’s Army following a pair of recent sold out shows in Philadelphia, her East Coast base, the Alden High School grad raises the bar on the 2013 tour for her breakout album, Magic, Sunday, October 20th in Asbury Hall at Babeville, 341 Delaware Ave., Buffalo, NY. Show time is 7 p.m., Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets go on sale Thursday, August 29th at NOON EST at www.babevillebuffalo.com (via tickets.com), by calling 888-223-6000, or at the Babeville box office.

“Magic” showcases Doreen’s talents as not only a vocalist, but as a songwriter and musician. She prides herself on the raw, emotional vibe of her lyrics and multiple abilities to engage an audience. For DOREEN TAYLOR LIVE, she’s designed an audience interactive production that truly embodies the title of “Magic” by showcasing its grandeur with sexy female dancers, special effects and lighting, video interaction, an 8-piece band and plenty more surprises – all delivered with a little bit of country, a lot of rock ‘n’ roll, and a Vegas flair.

Being able to make her hometown debut with this show as a headliner dubbed by the Huffington Post as “an excellent performing artist to keep your eyes on,” while supporting a local charity founded by one of her high school teachers, makes this evening an extra special honor for Doreen.

“I’ve been waiting several years to find the right opportunity to come back to Buffalo,” she says, “and I am so excited to be able to do it with this production. I can’t think of a better way to return to my roots! I love Buffalo and I am so ready to take no prisoners on that Babeville stage! This show is a feast for all the senses. We don’t park and bark. We don’t just sit there and play. I don’t hold back.“

Andrew's Army is a non-profit organization created by Doreen’s Alden High teacher, Lori Gramza, in memory of her son Andrew Gramza, whose heart valves were donated after he was killed at 21 in an automobile accident. The charity raises money and awareness about the importance of organ, tissue, and blood donations for Upstate New York Transplant Services (Unyts)/Donate Life to support their cause. By sheer coincidence (or divine intervention), Doreen’s concert just happens to land on the three-year anniversary of Andrew’s untimely passing.

“Lori Gramza was always an inspiration to me,” says Doreen. “When I heard of her son Andrew’s tragic passing in 2010, I knew I wanted to do something to help. And when I decided to bring the ‘Magic’ tour to Buffalo several years later, teaming up with Lori’s charity was a no-brainer. Andrew’s Army continues to save countless lives. I can’t think of a more beautiful way to give back.

“To top it all off, when Lori told me the concert just happened to be scheduled on the third anniversary of the accident that inevitably ended Andrew’s life, chills ran up and down my body. I knew right then and there something much deeper was happening. I believe that this isn’t just a concert anymore – this is something much more magical.”

Doreen’s hometown upbringing gave way to a sudden and remarkable career at an early age when her town, family, congregation and most importantly Doreen herself, realized the true power and strength of her voice. While some singers feel performing since childhood has burned them out or shown them the wrong side of the industry, she believes her young start has only made her stronger as a vocalist, songwriter and performer. Doreen lays out all her emotions on stage to be transported into the hearts and ears of everyone in attendance. Showmanship always has been as important to her as the music behind it. And DOREEN TAYLOR LIVE showcases her evolution as an artist to be reckoned with.

“Without straying too far from my roots, I wanted to make it accessible for everyone,” she says. “Whether you like country, rock, pop, jazz or even funk, it’s gonna be right there for you. It’s a beautiful show.”
