Doreen Taylor's STRIPPED Returns to NYC

DOREEN TAYLOR STRIPPED (again…): REVEALING EVENING OF SONG AND STORIES RETURNS AWARD-WINNING POPULAR SONGSTRESS TO BROADWAY ROOTS

International Recording Artist and Songwriter Goes Unplugged In Heart of NY Theater District Thursday October 2nd at Don’t Tell Mama

“An excellent performing artist to keep your eyes on” – Huffington Post

Back by popular demand to the Big Apple after a wildly successful sold out New York City stop of her “Magic” tour, the sultry Los Angeles award winning songstress is returning to trade in the splash and dazzle of her sold-out arena concerts for something intimately special.

DOREEN TAYLOR: STRIPPED (again…), an elegantly revealing evening of unplugged songs and stories from her breakout album, Magic, brings the award-winning recording artist back to the heart of New York’s theater district Thursday, Oct. 2nd at Don’t Tell Mama, 343 W 46th Street (betw. 8th & 9th Aves.). Show time is 8 p.m. Seating begins 7:30 p.m. Tickets available NOW at http://strippedagain.brownpapertickets.com or reservations at by calling 212.757.0788 daily after 4 p.m.

Magic, the album, showcases Doreen’s talents as not only a vocalist, but as a songwriter and musician. She prides herself on the raw, emotional vibe of her lyrics and abilities to engage an audience, and DOREEN TAYLOR: STRIPPED (again…) affords her the ultimate opportunity at a world-famous entertainment destination. Weaving acoustic renditions of songs from Magic with narration and story-telling about the making of the album and the woman who crafted it, the show is a rare look into the journey of a fiercely independent artist whose loyal fan base has pushed her social media following to more than 28,000 on Facebook and over 30,000 on Twitter. Several songs from her Magic album were selected by BOSE to be used for all their on-air demonstrations of their Bose Wave Sound System on the world’s #1 home shopping network, QVC and have been prominently featured since 2013.

Backed by acoustic musicians in a subdued setting, DOREEN TAYLOR: STRIPPED (again…) offers Doreen’s unique fusion of soothing vocals, captivating melodies and engaging, upbeat showmanship in an understated homage to her Broadway roots.

It’s not often that a mainstream, popular singer-songwriter does a cabaret-style show off Broadway. DOREEN TAYLOR: STRIPPED (again…) is a true testament to Doreen’s ability as an artist to continually transcend musical boundaries. She does just that on Magic, which yielded the YouTube hit “Last Call (for Alcohol)” with country comfort and, as the Buffalo News points out, “is notable for the diversity of its content. Taylor can do straight-up contemporary music, but she is known to tackle standards like ‘Summertime’ and ‘The Way You Look Tonight’ with equal conviction.” The Huffington Post calls her “an excellent performing artist to keep your eyes on."

NPCA and Country-Rock Songstress Doreen Taylor Team Up to Connect Young People to Parks

National Parks Conservation Association and Country-Rock Songstress Doreen Taylor Team Up to Connect Young People to Parks

NPCA names Taylor an Ambassador to National Parks

Join the National Parks Conservation Association and special guest Doreen Taylor for an important message about connecting young people to America’s national parks heading into their 2016 centennial. Taylor, who released a song benefiting the organization in April, will also be named an NPCA Ambassador to national parks. Taylor is an award-winning singer/songwriter.

WHO: National Parks Conservation Association representatives and supporters; award-winning songstress Doreen Taylor; local chapters of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America

WHEN: July 16, 2014 : 1:00-1:30 p.m.

WHERE: Independence National Historical Park, 520 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 (People’s Plaza is located at 5th and Market, one block north of Independence Hall, on the east side of the block containing the Liberty Bell and President’s House.)

WHAT: The National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) has enlisted country-rock songstress Doreen Taylor’s help to connect new audiences to America’s national parks. On July 16, Taylor will join NPCA and local chapters of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America at Independence National Historical Park for an event celebrating our parks and encouraging young people to get out and explore them this summer.

As we approach the centennial of our national parks in 2016, NPCA has prioritized connecting younger, more diverse audiences to our national parks. In recent years, fewer young people have visited, even though many of the 401 national parks are in urban settings with easy access.

Earlier this year, Taylor was chosen by the organization to create an anthem in support of national parks. The song, Colors of the USA, was inspired by her childhood memories of road trips to national parks. NPCA receives a portion of all proceeds from the song, which can be downloaded at www.colorsoftheusa.org.

“We are thrilled that Doreen Taylor has become an official NPCA Ambassador and that she shares our strong desire to connect new audiences to America’s national parks,” said NPCA Pennsylvania Program Manager Matt Elliott. “In order for national parks to remain relevant into their second century, we must prioritize connecting to a new generation and Doreen has helped us do that.”

At the event, Taylor will join NPCA to express strong support for this centennial effort. Children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America will be treated to a field trip at Independence National Historical National Park following the brief media gathering.

Doreen Taylor Featured in the Celebrity Travel Spotlight

Award winning singer/songwriter Doreen Taylor talked about her favorite travel places in the United States in the recent Celebrity Travel Spotlight on CarsTravelFood.com. This great piece details Taylor's collaboration with the National Parks and her new song "Colors of the USA".

"When I was a child, my parents would drive my family across country (Yes, just like National Lampoon’s Vacation) and we would stop in the most random of places to eat or just visit. I would always be amazed at how different these towns were from my own and as a child it was so intriguing to me to just watch and observe. Everyone knew each other. People would hold the door for each other. They would sit in the town center and just have conversations. Things were not rushed and people took the time to just be nice to each other. The people that make up these towns are the true pulse of America. They live their lives working honest jobs and value the more important things in life, like hard work, family and friends. I wish more people were like that," Taylor passionately described her love of American small towns.
